Ålesund Maritime is proud to announce that our partner REINTJES has delivered a flexible reduction gear to the newbuilding BRF Froan, which is being built for Berge Rederi AS.
BRF Froan is one of the most advanced zero-emission projects in the Norwegian maritime industry and will be the world's largest battery-powered bulk carrier. The ship is designed for emission-free operation on long coastal stretches using a large battery pack and energy-efficient solutions such as rotor sails.
Our delivery includes a compact and flexible REINTJES gear that is particularly well suited for installation in confined engine rooms , while providing high integration flexibility with hybrid and electric propulsion. This makes the solution suitable for modern battery-powered vessels where space and weight are critical factors.
